ELDTRAFFIC®, a total solution with a philosophy of its own!

Selecting the correct cable to use in an application is no longer merely a matter of choosing from a standard catalogue. Customers are confronted with a range of inter-related factors not all of which are technical. Due attention also has to be given to considerations such as, legislation, standards and system requirements common to the branch, as well as responsibility towards society. Choosing the best cabling solution is further complicated by issues such as customer-specific demands in the areas of safety, reliablility, durability and quality.

Balance In designing the versatile ELDTRAFFIC® cables, Eldra has achieved the right balance between all the factors mentioned above. In addition, our excellent relations with the infrastructure branch facilitate the supply of multi-purpose, exceptional products in this field. On more than one occasion, road traffic rules have been adopted or adapted due to the use of ELDTRAFFIC® cables.

The currently available cable portfolio contains only total solutions, each with its own philosophy. The product lines are distinguishable on technical, environmental-technical and practical levels. With this philosophy as the starting point, Eldra develops, on a daily basis, new and innovative solutions that are specifically designed to meet the ambitious objectives of our customers.

Distinctive technique

The distinctive technical quality of ELDTRAFFIC® products is based on the use of high quality plastics. The aim is to use materials that are fine-tuned for use in particular systems. The high water-resistant and mechanical strengths of the ELDTRAFFIC® Ground cables distinguish them from standard cables.

The ELDTRAFFIC® cables designed for outdoor use are developed using temperature, ozone, ultra-violet and chemical regulating components that are adapted to the conditions under which they are used. These conditions can include temporary roadside installations, as well as masts and lighting structures.

Responsible approach to environmental issues

At Eldra, consideration for our environment is an integral part of our development and delivery processes. Recycled waste products such as copper and plastics are used in the production process. Cooling water is also used more sparingly because of our inspired systems.

ELDTRAFFIC® products are distinghuished from standard products because of their recyclability and reusability. Furthermore, Eldra uses, where possible, halogen-free plastics that do not emit chlorine during combustion. This impacts positively on the costs of incineration and prevents the formation of acid rain and dioxins. In addition, pure materials are used in the production of ground cables to protect the surrounding soil from the potentially damaging effects of softening additives. So, ELDTRAFFIC® products are socially conscious!

Practical solutions The use of specific, renewable and permanent colour combinations facilitates the differentiation of the application areas, even in a current-free network. ELDTRAFFIC® uses these colour coded applications for public lighting, detection and traffic control systems. In addition, colours are used to differentiate between 230V and 42V applications. In these cases, cable labeling is unnecessary so installation time can be reduced.

Installation problems can also be minimized in surprisingly practical ways, for example, using the same colours as the traffic light bulbs when selecting conductor colours, and working with reusable relief prints. The possibility of processing at low temperatures means that equipment can be installed even during periods of frosty weather.

In cooperation with market partners, Eldra uses practical situations as a basis for developing products that comply with the relevant norms and this has led to making ELDTRAFFIC® cables the best of their kind.
